Founded in 1979 by the esteemed Mark Wilcox, our practice has been a cornerstone of holistic health and wellness in the Wakefield community. Initially known as Mark Wilcox & Associates, the practice underwent a transformation in 2001 adopting the name Wakefield Osteopaths Ltd. Mark dedicated over four decades to building a reputable and thriving practice, establishing a legacy of excellence in osteopathic care.

In 2019, Mark passed the torch to his trusted Associate Osteopath, Matthew Derbyshire. Under Matt’s leadership, the practice has continued to flourish, embodying the same high standards and dedication to patient care that Mark instilled. Though Mark retired slightly earlier than anticipated in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, his influence and ethos remain at the heart of our practice.

Today, Wakefield Osteopaths boasts a team of eight highly skilled osteopaths, each committed to delivering exceptional care and personalised treatment. Our team’s expertise spans a broad spectrum of osteopathic techniques, ensuring comprehensive care for our diverse patient community.
